Default Upgrading rotors

I was advised by a tech that I should upgrade my rotors. I need something that can be matched performance wise to my current OEM rotors, but withstand more abuse. What do you guys recommend?

I agree. I just need something that can last a little longer than what I have. I drive my car pretty hard.

Get brembo blanks with some good pads, new brake fluid, and SS lines.

i don't know about the DC5-S, but the EP3's brakes are pretty weak. i'd love to upgrade to wilwoods or brembos one of these days.

look into cobalt-friction g3000 rotors!!

when my rsx-s brakes are due that is what i am upgrading to. the g3000 rotors can handle any aftermarket pad and they are reasonably priced too...

unless you do major tracking - big brake kits aren't really needed - just ss lines, new fluid and some pads/rotors and you are set !!

tb bypass = throtle body by-pass

on our tb there is an inlet and outlet for the coolant to flow through - the bypass just redirects it from the engine block - back into the engine block keeping the hot coolant away from the tb

just one more step to keeping your intake temps down

I'm not looking for a big brake kit, just a nice set of rotors and pads that can withstand more abuse than the OEM's.

The Wilwoods I used to have were great, but squeaky as hell!!!! I tried different pads, and anti squeak substances for the pads, and nothing helped!

Speak of crappy ep3 brakes, i rearended someone because the fool tried to be fast and furious and go around me to avoid the metro bus on the right lane and i was in the middle. so the fool stopped and i had about 2-3 feet of space when he cut me off and i slammed on the brakes but nope... BAM right in the back of the stupid fat guy.

Damage doesnt look too bad. my CF hood is still in one piece amazingly and car is still drivable. i just need $1000 in cosmetic surgery to fix/paint bumper, left headlight, and left quarterpanel. Such a painn in the ***.

Maybe new brakes could've saved my baby or maybe not but it still bothers me.

lol, sorry to hear man. I agree though with the brakes, i have a base dc5, they are not that good. If the road gets bumpy i lose break power all togther for a sec or 2, kinda scary. I havnt asked anyone on here about it, but my buddy has the same prob on his base. Anyone know what good pads are? i cant afford a whole brake set up so better pads is all i can hope for.

I got slotted rotors, stainless steel lines, axxis ultimate pads and ATE Super Blue brake fluid for my EP from a place out in California called brakezone and am very happy with that set up. It lasted me through a track day at Road Atlanta with no fade. Check out their website at http://www.brakezone.com If you call them ask for Sherwin.
