Default 2001 Civic - Waiting to be modded (Semi-Newbie)

Hey guys.. I have a 2001 Civic LX... I am looking to dump 20-25,000$ into it. I want performance and looks. I know pretty much what I want to do, but I want others opinions. Im gunna be swapping my engine with a b16a2 I believe, not sure. Im looking to do pretty much everything to my car, turbo, exhaust, just a lot of stuff. I don't know much about engines and all that stuff, but I do want to learn and I have been looking for websites and forums to read and read on it. I know im being broad but I just don't know what all to do. Im aiming for 300-350hp in the civic. Please gimme any help I can get. Just suggestions and what not. Thanks for your help...

-Jeff

Dumping that much into a 2001 LX?

Why?

Because I have the money to do so and I want my car to be nice. I always get responses of just buy a new car etc. but im getting a new car at 21.. but then the question comes up, why dump all that money into a civic when ur getting a new car in 3 years... well.. because my mom wants to do it for me because she knows how long ive wanted it done for. My car at 21 isnt going to be a car u drive around everyday, its gunna be a weekend car, my civic is gunna be the car that im gunna keep for quite awhile and I want it to look clean n badass..

I was more referring to why a 2001 Civic LX, as opposed to an EK, EG, DC, EP...etc... 2001 LX doesn't seem like the best starting point to me. Just my opinion though.

Well I didn't just buy the Civic to mod and soup up.. I bought it as my car, it was my first car at 16.. and ive had it for 2 years... Now that I have the money to spend, I would like to mod it etc. thats all... When I first got the car, the idea of souping it up, never crossed my mind. So its not like I was shopping for a more moddable car at the time.

I didn't think a B series motor would work in a EM2. Unless you feel like wasting a good part of your 25k budget I would sell it and find anything in the 92-00 range. But hey, its your money.

25k is a waste of money.

put 3-4k into it, and invest that money in something else.

plus your buying a new car at 21?

this has got to be a joke.

No, its not a joke. Im getting a new car at 21 but I choose not to say what it is because I will probably just get flamed. I thought this was a good forum to post on because most people looked mature enuff to respond in any way to help, not bring someone down. Im just asking for suggestions on my civic, because its gunna get done one way or the other, just curious what others think I should do with the car I have, not any other car, just the 2001 civic lx.

That’s a lot of money for an 18 year old. Must be nice to have 25,000$ on the side to put into a car. Most people on here work week for week to buy their parts so you could understand why most people aren’t to supportive. Like others I don't understand why you would get a civic lx if you had another 25 grand just sitting there. Could have at least gotten a civic ex?
