Default Viper 690XV - Yay or Nay??

Being I can't find a Clifford dealer around my area I decided to go with Viper. I want one of the 2way systems. I don't need the remote start so I wanna go with a 690XV. Anyone use or hearing anything about it?

i wouldn't that pager is CRAP

the range is so shitty
won't page u at school or the movies
2 places u really need it
look into compustar if u want a pager that works, there 1/4 mile range is crap.
it's not even 1/4 of a mile, inside building u don't get a page.

dude the cliff and the viper is the same thing, the clif just has a biult in turbo timer. they work great as long as you mount the antenna on the windsheild. grat system definatly a yay.

They have a extended antenna for it. Wouldn't that help with the range or is it just a gimmick to sell it better?

like said, it's the same as the clifford- wihtout the remote start, it's a good system, I've seen 1/4 mile ranges out of them before, make sure the ant. is not mounted underneath a tinted or stickered window, it will affect range, and make sure the wire to the ant. is not bunched up, it will act as a coil and lower the range...

I just got my Clifford Matrix 2.5x installed this weekend (same as the Viper 690XV, no?), and they mounted the antenna inside the A-Post molding...

Was inside the movie theater today (had parked approximately half way out the lot) and still had full functionality? My distance btwn car/remote was probably totaled about 500'-600' straight line distance without counting the building.

So far so good if that helps at all^^
