...sv650 anyone?
i want one. cause it looks cheap, light and fun. the ninja 250 is at a friends house so he can learn to ride, he just took the MSF class, so i am looking for a new around-town and backroad toy to complement the FJR... i think i can get a sv650 for 6300 out the door...not a stellar deal but thats cheap. payments would be under 200/month. and i'd probly pay it off quickly (if i can)
Nekkid or faired? Since you mention the $6300, I assume your talking about the 03-04? I've got an 02 svs and love it, lookin to buy another bike though, gonna keep the svs for the track. I gotta trackday this weekend too, wooooohooooo!
they are in stock at the local dealer and i am dying to be irresponsible with my savings!! i will always be poor because i am not financially responsible...

I love the SV650 in all forms, however, I much prefer the 99-02 aesthetics with the round tube frame, even though the newer frame is supposed to be stiffer. FI would be nice too.
There is tons of aftermarket, and a virtual cult following

Maybe see if you can find a leftover '03. They are basically identical to the '04s, except the 04 has a different subframe with a slightly lower seat. Shouldn't matter unless you are very short.

And now a SV650? You change bikes more frequently than JLo changes husbands!!
Variety is the spice of life! Go for it.

they didnt have a blue sv650 like i wanted, well they did have one with a bunch of extra plastic **** on if for 6250 but i didnt like all that crap on it.
they pushed me hard on a blue leftover 2003 sv1000...i got them down to 7061 out the door, which aint bad. i think its a pretty good price, but i got cold feet and decided to wait on it. i think i'd prefer the 650 over the 1k since the 1k is 40lbs heavier and i really dont care for the extra torque, i'd rather have a few more mpg economy and less torque to worry about having the back end come out from breaking tires loose.
that was a close one!!!

I've got an 03' SVS. I love it. Decent power (a little bit more torque than the new 600 I4's) Handles, and breaks awesome, and like you said, it's decently priced. I would go for it. It's a very forgiving motorcycle.

Nah, you don't need anything close to liter-bike-size - that's what the FJR is for! Make sure you stay focused on the SV650; don't get suckered into another bike. And make sure it's what you want! You've got the money, you've got the power.
A moment of weakness can lead to a lifetime of herp...errr....regret.

The SV is an amazing bike. Someone mentioned a cult following... I pretty much feel like there is one too, but for a good reason! I didnt really understand what the big deal was about these bikes until I got mine. It really is just a great bike. I have a 03 and personally love the new looks and of course, the FI. The only difference I thought between 03 and 04 was they removed "Suzuki" from the tank and replaced it with the "S" and made the rear fender less gay.
i want a sv650 not the S version.
apparently the seat is a little lower in 04 also. not a big deal to me...i love the blue...i can get one on tuesday ...but i am not sure if i am going to. *shrug* its probably a bad idea to spend that cash now...
