What are the sleeves in a k20a made out of?I was just wondering because i plan on building a k20a longblock i just picked up and want to make sure i can buy any off the shelf aftermarket pistons and install it without having to worry about the piston being too rough on the stock sleeves.I do not want to resleeve right now if i do not have to.Thanks.

 

you can put aftermarket pistons such as Arias pistons in there with no problem as long as the surface of the cylinder walls are good and not cracked or scratched severely. most piston companies have off the shelf pistons that are .5mm oversize so you can hone the cylinder and put those pistons in. anything over 1mm would need resleeving of the block.
