Still having trouble finding vented hoods...
...that are NOT carbon fiber. Im not personally into the whole carbon fiber fetish and Im having trouble finding a vented hood thats not carbon fiber.
Is there a website you can all point me to?
Also, how do vented hoods work when its raining or something?
- Thanks

There are many many fiberglass vented hoods available. Sorry, I don't know any sites offhand.
With the rain, don't worry about it. Only worry if your car is turboed. Cold water/rain on your manifold will make it warp. A regular aftermarket header or stock manifold will be fine.
Umm....wait. Vented which way?

great idea, get the weight reduction without the ugly c/f hood look

Im looking to get a vented hood to help cool a turbocharged engine. I'm kind digging the 'reverse' vented hoods.
Does anyone have pictures of painted CF hoods? I just hate the weeve design.

How much does the vented hood help with the cooling of turbocharged engine?
Also, ive seen a few painted carbon fiber hoods and you can still see the little wavies.
Hopefully you can find a good paint shop and they can do a nice clean job.

that all depends on the quality of the paintjob and the color youre painting it I guess. Yoshi painted his CF hood on his car PY and you'd never guess that it was CF.

Well, then I hope you're not going to drive in the rain.
"Reverse vented" hoods easily let water hit your turbo manifold. They are very prone to cracking/warping.

i have a reverse vented hood and love it. its CF also. i dont think they make metal hoods with vents in them. so like the other guy said get a CF one and paint it. plus i live in the desert and dont have to worry about rain.

Actually, for NA cars, the opening clears the header. But not for turbo manifolds.

ok ? The hood is supposedly meant for turbo setups... thats the meaning of hood vents i believe...

Yes, they are. But not when you drive in the rain. Turbo manifolds are very prone to cracking with their high temperatures. And they aren't as cheap as a header that you can just throw a few bucks down to replace.
If you don't drive in the rain, then by all means, get it.

Turbocharged hondas should not be daily drivers In my opinion...
Save up and buy a shitty car for a G, and drive that in the rain, and put whatever the hell hood you want on
