Default surprisingly good tires

so i was about to leave college for home [400 mile drive] and my tires were bald as hell...two belts coming through...i pondered the thought of driving home at like 60...hoping they'd last, cause i didnt have money for 2 new good tires...buuuut, the day before i left, one went down on me...so i had to go get 2 tires, mounted and balanced...had like no money, so i went to pep boys, and got their 'ventura tires' 80 a piece...figured they'd grip like **** and have terrible water traction...honestly...i think i like them better than my michelin h4's...tires are great...

so if your broke and need a tire..check out pep boys...

sorry for the useless post...i thought it was cool tho

ya know you couldve gotten something much nicer like avs es100s for that price instead of settling for some goofy pep boys tires...

i don't think you can get some es100s for $80 retail from a tire store. retail tire stores charge up the *** for tires!! sometimes almost double the price you could get them for online or from a performance shop.

Sears Tires once quoted me $175 each for some kuhmos...i just laughed and walked out the door.

yeah... in the paper I see tires for i think they are $35... they don't even state which brand, it just says "brand depends on location" oh yeha, that's for 15"... I like that 13"s are $15 a tire haha

U guys wanna know some surprisingly good tires? Doral SDL 60's. I had them on my CRX on my 14's and seriously, they grip VERY nice! Theyre directional, and only like $40 a piece. So good I bought the same tires for my blackies i had on my DA. Took them up to the canyons and they are great! My friend also bought some for his car for the canyons too.

You can see the tread pattern here (might need to turn up the brightness but you can see it)

i have the potenza s-03's on my talon...my brother has potenza G009's on his accord...but some cheap tires on his integra....havent addressed that issue yet.

but i just sold a friend of mine some 205/40/17 Nitto Neo Gens for about $70/tire. i like the bridgestones, but if your happy with the pep boys tires that's cool

and you'll find that anything in a "high performance size" cant handle all that bad, but when put next to another tire for comparison...you should be able to see a difference.

i called about a dozen places around rochester...and 80 bucks mounted/balanced for 205 40 17's was the absolute cheapest...some places wanted around 150 a tire...

That thread pattern looks EXACTLY like the Dunlop W-10's I got from a local tire shop mounted for about $250 in size 205/45/16. Surprisingly they handle and grip much better than kuhmo 712's I had before that.

Back when I had a truck I'd use the take-offs from the shop I worked at. Replace tires every 15k miles and never cost me a cent. Not real nice tires though.

I havent had Azenis myself, but i've ridden in cars with them. Azenis of course better than the Dorals, but the Dorals really do hold their own.

One thing though, I think different sizes have a different tread pattern with the Dorals. I haven't looked into the other sizes yet since i cant find any info on them lol.
