Default My H22A4 in my Accord redlines at a weak 6000 rpm. What the #*$^( is the deal?!!?!

I hooked up on a 95 Accord 4dr with an H22A4. Auto to manual conversion. Anyways, I've been taking it easy on this car for two reasons:
1. I just learned how to drive stick on it.
2. The front axle is in BAD shape.

So, I was at work today and me and a co-worker were out in the parking lot smokin' a cigarette by my ride. He asks me what it redlines at. I was like...I don't know...

I got in the car and tried and it redlined at the stock Accord cluster's redline. PATHETIC.

Could this be my MSD SCI ignition. I bought this car from another party so I don't know if this igntion has the rev limiter in it or not because from what I know, MSD has two versions of the SCI igntion - one with a rev limiter and one without. This might sound stupid but how do I tell if its my ignition box that is causing it to redline so early.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

look on the side of the ecu.....should have some numbers and b/t the 2 hyphens you should see what it is. For example, xxxx - p28 - xxxxx or xxxx - p72 - xxxx

if you did this swap, you should definitely know what ecu you are using...perhaps the use of a wrong ecu is the problem of this occurance...

He didn't do the swap. He bought the car that way.

My friend put the wrong ecu in his gsr (like a tard) and it did the same thing so I agreem I would check the ecu.

Its the wrong ECU for sure, I have had the same problem a few times. If it is a chipped ECU it might be F'ed up.

Do you have a CEL? It might be running in "limp" mode. If you don't, then you are probably running a stock Accord ecu.

did you let teh car warm up at all?
if you didnt it is perfectly normal to rev limit that low. the ecu wont let the rev's build up too high unless the coolatn temp sensor says the car is warm enough.

No I didn't warm it up that time but even on the highway it cuts me off at like 6000 rpm.
