Hi,
my cousin changed his steering wheel in his accord with an aftermarket one, now the SRS light is ON.
I read some threads about SRS, they tell how to reset it but as the Airbag has been removed, it' ll light again.
I would like to know how to fool the controler, so it' ll think the airbag is still there, I read that you have to put a resistor. what' s the value of the resistor to use ?

 

You will have to use an ohm meter and find out what resistor to use, or you could look in a wiring diagram and see if it tells you what you need.

 

If its a 6th gen..Check the Basic Guide at the top of the forum and Iam7head did a nice write up on how to reset it

 

I didn' t find 98 wiring diagram, but on 96 diagram, it doesn' t tell any resistor value.
No one have an aftermarket steering wheel and put a resistor to remove SRS light ?

 

I just took the bulb out of the cluster, no more SRS light! I like the cheap easy way out.

 

I think it' s easier to put a resistor than to remove part of the dash for a bulb (don' know if it' s really difficult to remove as it' s not my car, will check when I' ll see him in case we don' t find the resistor value), that' s why I' m asking the resistor value.
