My buddy has a 93 Del Sol SI 5M that he's wanting to do a engine swap. I don't know much about Honda engines as I am a Nissan guy. What is the most common swap for the Del Sols ? I told him he can try the 160 hp Del Sol VTEC motor or the Integra GSR motor or possibly the ITR motor. He's looking to spend around $3500 for the whole setup.

a B18C1 (GSR) motor costs around $3000-$3500. another $1000, he can get an B18C-R (ITR) motor
best overall motor swap for honda is the GSR motor.

 

any b series motor will fit in the del sol with not much work. either the dohc del sol motor, 99-00 civic si motor, 90-01 integra motors, etc. but for $3500, does he want that dropped in with all the basics or any extras?
