I wasnt even planning on buying a lude. I went it to buy a 99 Civic Si and they had just sold it. So they had a 2000 lude for about the same price and I walked out with that. They made the 5th gen for 4 years so it should be easy to find one.

They made it for 5 years.

It took me a year to find mine. I was looking for a 4th gen Accord because they were in my price range. I would check the Preludes but they were usually twice as much as I wanted to pay. I came home from drinking one Sat. night, went on cars.com, and found my 92 Si. Was for less than what I was looking to pay too.

I have had it for almost two years now. NO REGRETS!!

about 2 months of searching once i knew exactly what i wanted and how much i was willing to spend...i would have waited much longer knowing what i know now...i love my lude. Hang in there and search, search, search. You might have to look well outside of your area to find the best deal - it will be worth the effort man.
Check the for sale thread in this forum...

good luck

at the time, there weren't many imports let alone preludes in my area. i ended up spending about a year trying to find one and bought a car in between that time. i sold that car, and bought one of 2 preludes actualy listed in the classifieds; and it was fairly local.

If you think its hard to find a prelude, try looking for a good GSR in the Iowa area. Thats like trying to find a chick who hasnt slept with 100 guys in iowa too, haha, but yeah i found a 95 lude, the cleanest one I have ever seen, so i wasted no time, test drove it, checked it for leaks, then made an offer and drove home

I was looking for a 4th gen but them my dad told me one of his friends was selling a prelude and he didn't know what year it was. So we went and looked at it and I seen how clean it was and fell in love it had 91,000 miles but it was in pristine condition inside and out. It was fun to drive around stock and everyone would turn the heads. But now its a different car then what it used to be

I went to 5 dealerships and only 2 had Azure Blue-green Pearl... wasn't too difficult but haggling with the salesperson was.

It took me about 3 months to find my first and then about another 3 months to get my second, but I also had to fly from Dahlgren, VA to Miami, FL to go and get her. The first one I drove from Kalamazoo, MI to Dublin, OH to get her

It took me 6 months to find my love. When I was searching I was looking for a 94-01 Integra GS-R or a 94-96 Prelude VTEC. The most I could spend was $15,000. Then I started looking at the 5th gen Preludes and then I said forget the Integra and 4th gen Prelude, I fell in love with the 5th gens Preludes and I wanted either a Pearl diamond white, milano red or premium pearl white. Ive check out more than 25 car dealers. I found my Prelude Type SH at a toyota dealer, Ive had it for almost a year and I don't regret it at all.

Mine fell into my lap. Literally.
No, I was just getting pissed at my old car, and was about to swap a mazda engine into it and sink even more money into that piece of crap. Then the step-dad mentioned his co-worker was selling his '92 prelude. Original owner, all dealership work, and he only wanted 2k$ for it.
We felt bad ripping him off so I gave him 6k$.
Then it took me half a year to sell the old car to some russian high school kid who proceeded to rice out my old pseudo-escort. Word.

I was just on my way to help a friend move and passed a gas station and saw a 4th gen. prelude for sale. It had a sign saying $2000 obo...I thought about it, a prelude for $2000, said **** it must have something wrong with it. Slept on it and came back the next day to test drive with $1800 and fell in love with it. And before seeing this lude I didnt know that they made 4WS, which mine is, and thats just icing on the cake. 276,xxx miles and still running strong!!!!!

3 months or so. Had been looking in the papers and couldn't find crap (and this being somewhat close to NYC). Finally I looked in some weird small papers and found one in the next state over, but it was only an SI. Decided that because it was in such good condition that I would take it and I'm glad I did.

Took a couple months for me - wanted the Electron Blue and it had to be automatic since I didn't want a stick with the hills in Pittsburgh. Found it in Port Charlotte, Florida - flew down and drove it back. Been happy ever since :D

It took me about half a year for me to find the prelude i wanted. I had seen about 3 or 4 preludes that were selling the 5th gen for around $9,500-$11,000 but they all had shady owners I live in sacramento and finally found one at Vallejo for 9,000. Original owner (old lady ), clean title, immacuate. The only advice I can give you is to not rush it and end up with a crappy car, the right car will come sooner or later...

It took me awhile to find my 4th generation prelude, I was looking at a integra LS model but that was sold. I was carless for about a month b/c i sold my civic and behold i found a prelude for 7500 in NC. I live in Va and had my uncle look at it and he said the car was immaculate in and out. so i met the guy and test drove it and nothing was wrong and was able to knock off 1000 bucks and drove home that same night. behold what was under the hood was a H22A engine which i didn't know i had til i drove home. it was a good deal for nearly 4 years ago for a 93'Lude. Now i got one of the rarest vtec lude models and everyone loves that car, not going to ever sell it to i find something better in performance and power. Plus upgrades were expensive but well worth the money.
