Default cramming a V2 intake into a CRX

It fits, but you have to get creative with a holesaw and a few other tools...

This intake was meant for a 99-00 Si, I bought it from JDMTYPER who had it on his CTR when it broke. I taped it up and slapped it into my rex. It works really well, I can tell the difference over my previous intake, and it sounds great!

LMK what you think, whether it be flames or compliments.

Looks good, much easier when the battery is relocated.

That looks really close to the body, make sure its not rubbing. Nice work though.

pardon the dumb question...but what is better about the V2 than the regular AEM CAI. I'm not saying this is stupid it is an honest question .

I see a lot of RSX guys with this intake as well but my friend just has the standard aem.

Looks like a larger bore? insulated?

Thanks,
Vince

Wow, I've gotten way more positive responses than I thought I would, thanks!

AgentJam, I can't begin to delve into all the acoustic tuning and resonance blah blah because I halfway don't fully understand it myself, but it broadens the torque curve while maintaining a great top-end rush, so basically it just makes more power. It is a small (2.5") pipe inside of a larger (4") one.

I actually seen dyno numbers where the new aem v2 actually put down less hp and tq over the old cold air intake.

i dont think it looks that ghetto, however i dont think its a good idea for the intake to be resting against the cooling fan, i dont know about your car but when my fan is going its blowing hot air.

Thats how the V2 goes, It is closer to the fan but I dont think it makes much of a difference, I cant tell a difference on mine.

*edit*

I also agree, if it rubs against the body its gonna rub a hole right into it.

Hey cool finally I got some flames!

It isn't rubbing, there is plenty of space (about a centimeter) between the pipe and the body. The bottom pipe is in there so tight it cannot move. Neither does the engine, thanks to the mount kit.

As for it looking ghetto, it doesn't matter to me one bit what it looks like, it performs and I didn't pay much for it anyway (because it was used and broken).

I might get some relfective cooling whatever wrap for it, to keep it a little cooler.
