Well i believe it is just clipped in there. if you want go to a junk yard and get a new one. otherwise get some black spray paint and chip the rest off and paint it.

This is a common problem with 4th generation preludes. I've gone as low as using a magic marker (black) to try to maintain the same color on the trim. Anybody know what the trim piece costs to replace? The junkyard pieces are going to be in the same state of corrosion.

That thing is freakin' expensive!!!

Honda wants $80 bones for it - not kidding. I repainted it instead. To get it off you have to peel up the rubber flap that is attached to it (open the trunk) and you'll see all the screws underneath it. If you just loosen the screws and pull up a little the whole thing should raise up, but not come off. Then pop off the plastic on one of the ends of it and you can slide the whole piece out. You can also try pushing each clip out but they will break easily and it cost me $30 for a full set of new ones. Then I just sanded all the old rubber and rust off and repainted. Try not to bend it either as it will make it harder to get it flush with the window again.

well i guess there might be a way around it but every glass
company and honda dealer will tell you that you have to
have the back glass removed to have this piece installed.
that molding comes with the 6 clips when you purchase it from the dealer

Ya, so I saved $50 then over buying the whole trim Plus if I had known Honda would have ***-raped me on the price I would have been more careful, which is what I just told the guy

Just tell them you need the lower windshild molding
for the back glass. might be more than $80 depending
on what dealership you go to.

$80 for just the rear trim molding, and the clips I guess. That was off some online place I think.
