problems with my timing belt?
My timing belt was replaced a year ago and it had about 75000 miles on it .Itwas making a slaping sounds that only happened when the engine was decelerating or if you reved it up it would make it when it was decelerating that way . Ater i got it replaced it did not do it anymore but it jsut started doing it the other day again and i know that a new timing belt should not go bad after 10000 miles which is all i put on it does anyone have any suggestions or had the same thing happen to them.

The autotensioner went out, just like the first time. I had my auto-tensioner fail and replaced only to have it fail again within a year. After the second time, i ordered the re-manufactured Timming Belt/Auto Tensioner kit from Honda and did the install my self. No problems since. :knockonwood:
I had exact same scenario as Revi-Ra.
I had dealer replace belt and tensioner first time. 8 months later same problem is back, but dealer is blaming it on something else and won't fix it without charging me again. So I ended up doing it myself the second time using a specific kit that included both the timing belt and a supposedly improved tensioner. No problems so far since I changed it 6 months ago. Only time will tell....

The kit I got is part number 06144-P13-305. It included timing belt and tensioner. I got it online at hparts.com for like $90, but it appears their site is under construction now. Any dealer should be able to get it for you, though online dealers seem to have much better prices on parts. FYI I did my balancer belt and water pump while I was in there since its not that much more work. Good luck!
