Looking for opinions on an LS tranny in the CRX
Sup guys, I'm looking for some feedback on people that have an LS engine and tranny in their ef and how it feels...having never driven a b-series ef its hard to decide whether to use the LS tranny I have, or sell it and pick up a b16/gsr cable tranny.
Some factors to take into account: its gonna be my daily driver (mostly city driving but a few trips to and from college 2.5 hrs away), and it will be turbo'd in the future, is the longer gearing going to feel that long making 220-250 whp?
I've tried searching but havn't found opinions of those with the ls engine and tranny setup.

I've got an A-1 in my car now... It's just abou the same feeling as the 94-01 GSR tranny, really.
Honda didn't REALLY **** up the LS tranny gearing til the Hydro trannies came out.

I have read alot about this.
Unless you make enough power to go over 125mph in the quarter mile a LS tranny is going to slow you down by at least 1/2 second.
But after saying this. If you understand the above statement and you do a lot of highway driving get one.

yes and it takes longer to get to redline due to the longer gearing.
You got that right I am in third for days.
You should finish the quarter mile in the end of fourth.

Not to jack thread, still staying on topic... Currently I have an LSVTEC in my '91 with a Cable Ys1, I don't like the gearing, I want some longer gears. Whats the best replacment tranny for my setup? GSR? LS? Whats the difference?
i have a s1 and the gearing is towards drag, ys1 jdm or usdm gsr would be good
or a y1 but longer gears would make a drive more comforatable.

Good input guys...I think I'll use the LS, mainly cause I have it in my garage right now...I can always buy another tranny later and maybe even take the ls 5th and put it in.

My bad! I just re-read your post and if you have a non-vtec b18 you should be fine that is the engine the tranny is geared for.
