i hear they are out already. Supposedly one of my friends picked up a set and dynoed 190hp at wheels with just the skunk2 cams, fuel rail, intake and exhust. unless he is BSing me. going to check it out today or tomorrow.

The Skunk2 camshafts have not been released. I spoke to a representative from Skunk2 at NHRA Spring Nationals (Englishtown, NJ) and I was told they will be released somewhere in the mid-late summer.

^^^ Agreed very much! They haven't been released yet. Everyone is waiting to see what kind of gains they will have once they are released though. People want to see if they're going to be like the B Series.

 

the ep3 doesn't even have a true VTEC like the B-series did. I don't think it'll do miracles.

I don't see how you came to this conclusion... Aftermarket cam shafts have been making big power gains in many, many different cars long before vtec was even "invented".

Yes, I am aware of the fact that the EP3 has econo-i-vtec. This shouldn't make a difference with cams. Aftermarket cams have the ability to make power in any motor. [sarcasm] I heard they can even make power in cars that don't have VTEC at all! [/sarcasm]

 

they will make power, no one said they wouldn't, but they certainly won't have the same action as toda C's on a b18c or crower stage 3s on an h22a. For the price of the cams (assuming they are around 700-800), I would just invest a little more money into a a2 head and put some toda s1 in them for more power than s2's on a mediocre flowing head.

who'd hav thunk it....

 

i remeber a write up on an ls integra with cams only and that mo'fo only gained 10 whp, but it cranked almost 20lbs of torque. that's pretty dang good w/o vtec.
