how low did you set the coilovers? Did you cut the bump stops in half ? If you are not totally slamed then, try setting the fronts at 2 and the rear at 4 or 5.
bouncy as in stiff? Or bouncy as in the springs shake and vibrate long after you've hit a bump? I run dropzone shocks with H&R race springs and its cool, you should be fine.

my guess is that the agxs aren't stiff enough, which doesn't surprise me since they are only reccomended fro drops 1.5 inches or less. coilover spring rates are high and need a strut to handle that, koni yellows is what you should have bought.

agx's at full setting are stiff as hell (though the rebound isnt as quick at koni's), even so at 3/6. i run mine at 2/4 and it's still a little uncomfortable for me. i think you're misinterpreting less subtle dampening as being bouncy. put your shocks at 1/1 for comparison. Also bear in mind agx's aren't intended for really aggressive drops, try to keep it above 2"

your guess is just a guess. I've IMed over 15 different AGX users with much stiffer spring rates than default rate GC coilover sleeves and drops of 2 inches, and they love their shocks. I've used AGX shocks on another car, and it overdampened the H&R sport springs. Its true that the Koni yellows at FULL FIRM have much more aggressive rebound, but the KYB's have more aggressive bump compression valving, which evens it out. You can look at CRX Lee's shock dynos and see for yourself, the AGX's arent as bad as people want to make them out to be.

true true true......if im not mistaken, the AGX's stiffest setting is stiffer than yellows, and softist is softer than yellows.....

actually, the AGX's on EVERY setting have much firmer bump compression valving than the Koni Yellows, even (AGX's) set at 1 (lowest setting). With the AGX's and Yellows set to full firm, the Yellows have a much firmer REBOUND valving. I think whoever runs Koni Yellows on full stiff on the street using street springs is on crack. I think that would have adverse handling effects. I think the AGX's firmer rebound valving absorbs enough of the energy of the spring therefore it doesn't need to run as aggressive a rebound as the Koni's. All this info is based on the following shock dynos which were done using Civic shocks, so I don't know if it would apply to other car makes and models:

I honestly think the Yellows should come with firmer bump valving.

well now that that confusion is all cleared up, what does that mean for him? this thread really interests me because im looking for a streetable drop (1-1.5) and handling upgrade and was considering his set-up. so i guess my question is for what im looking for, whats the best set up?
from the guide:
For the "racer" on a budget: KYB AGX's, Eibach Sportlines, ST Rear Sway bar....

on my old 94 accord, i was using gc's and kyb agx's and loved the ride...they were not bouncy at all...even in autoX, they were mildly aggressive and could at least be competitve...

nothin like the price either
i would have def gone for a full coilover setup had i not been so poor

How low is it? cause just about any suspension that's slammed isn't gonna ride good, i don't car if you have $99 sleeve overs to $2000 Zeal coilovers. A few of my friends have GC w/ agx and they ride is good because they don't slam their car cause we go for ride quality not looks. I have GC w/ illuminas and my car ride good as hell.
