I am not sure if this is the correct topic for this section but i would really like to know about which car would outrun the other...

If a 2003 Lexus Is model 3.0L v6 ( whats the hp?) was going to race against a

1996 Ford mustang GT convertible 4.6L V8 215hp....with only only having a driver...no passengers...

OR

Lexus with 4 passengers and GT with just the driver? which car would reach win in acceleration? which car would win in a distance of a mile?

I am intrigues by this question because i happend to own the gt mustang and i happend to know someone with a lexus IS ( cocky little b***) ....and id love to find out if my car can out speed his...i have 50,000 milage( dont know if this detail matters) but anyway...

???ANYONE KNOWS THE ANSWER???

Yo first get your facts straight. The Lexus is an Inline 6 not a V6 and yes you should be able to pull on a IS300 with 4 people. Most cars should be able to pull on a car with four people.. You know Power to weight ratio!!!!

LOL This is a good one. Ok the modular 4.6 96-98 motors are not that strong bone stock. They run high 14 to low 15 sec range and a vert just may be slower. I have a 97 GT and the best i ran stock was flat 15 sec at 98 mph. Now the 99 and up 4.6 are the fast cars they have what we call PI Heads, PI Intake and cams. If a 96-98 GT has that PI swap Heads cam and intake then you will have some trouble on your hands. That will put them at 240rwhp and 280rwtq and you can get that for $600 bucks so look out. MY car = SVO Heads, SHM 2730 cams PI Intake Pro-charger 8psi . good luck on your race
