Default s2s1 cams in, now dying at 7 completly , please help

i go the cams in and theya re set at 0,0. mmy mods ar as followed, intake 2.5 inch exhaust usdm header and downpipe (1.75inch i think) str tb, hondata spacer.
it pulls very hard to abou t6 then moves slowly to 7. it seems like its barely making it, then at about 7 it makes a weird noise and wont go any farther.

btw i have a jdm h22a with a usdm exhaust mani

do i jstu need to get these tuned, or is because of my small exahust mani

Well did you ever get it tuned? If you just bolted the cams in then you probably have an interesting A/F curve. If you spent the $700 for the cams blow the extra $50 and get a couple of baseline dyno runs with an A/F meter. It will tell you a lot about how/what your engine is doing.

What ecu are you using? Is it using the Knock sensor?
OBD-1 or OBD-2?
What Intake/filter? How many miles?
When is the vtec crossover?
How old is your O2 sensor?
Is your EGR connected?
How old/what condition is your cat in? Is it stock (civic? Prelude?)?
Any CEL's?
Who did your Wiring Job on your swap?
How old, what condition is your ignition system in?
What are your plugs gapped to?
What octane are you running?
What is the Hondata spacer? The insulating IM gasket?
What fuel pressure are you running? With what pump?
How old is your fuel filter?

answer these Q's and it would help. But GET THE DAMN THING DYNOED!

I bet your timing belt is off a tooth on the cam gears.

Who did the install?

what is a JDM IM? If it's dual stage there is nothing different about it.

I'll ask you again did you install aftermarket valvesprings and retainers?

jdm exhaust manifold is exactly the same on the top as usdm.

guess what, no aftermarket valvesprings = coil bind

Your motor is in major trouble

edit: I check the skunk2 site and it says valvetrain upgrade recommended....weird I would have thought it would be required...anyway if you motor is making a really weird noise at 7000 rpms then the problem is related to the cams obviously...it's mechanical

do that or get or upgrade the rest of your valvetrain.

You car would probably be running worse if that were the case.
Did you time the motor yourself?

I think you need a valvetrain upgrade...sounds like coil bind and valve float...surprised you haven;t broken anything yet...

also the rockers could be bottoming out...check the rockers for wear

Get adjustable Cam gears, a fuel tuning device, then goto the Dyno for some tuning. It'll make a WORLD of a difference. You can't expect your car to make mad power by slapping in bigger cams. Tuning is the key word.

rotate the motor and see if the rockers are bottoming out...

then spin it at 7000 rpms and se if the springs bind

onspect the springs for damage

He was kidding about that, imagine the mess you would make with the oil, you would look like a little kid playing in the mud
