Oversized OEM Head Gasket?
I was told recently the OEM headgasket will not work on a block bored .20 over. Previously I researched this topic and was reassured that it would fit fine as oem headgaskets were larger than the actual bore anyway.
I am looking to assemble my block tonight, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
PS, I will be running around 15-20psi

I think if your assembling your motor tonight, you shouldn't have a problem placing yur HG on the block and seeing if it fits. I dont think you should have a problem...
If you ever go over .20 though you will need to get a bigger bore gasket, you can get your oem one bored by GE, or you can get a cometic, hks, or blitz gasket.

Is there a way to check to see if it does not fit? I mean will it be real close to the edges? or should it be?
I dont know what to look for to be honest?

I already purchased an oem one. Can any machine shop bore out an oem gasket? The edges are damn close to the cylinder walls. I am not sure about how safe it will be. I will be running this engine under boost.
Do not worry about it. The stock gasket can go 81.5 without a problem. The extra .003" is nothig to worry about. The factory gasket was made to handle an 81.5 mm bore with the side clearance taken into consideration. You will NOT have any issues! Best of luck with your car.
