Default help me fast...about back struts bolts honda accord 97...

what is the easiest way to get those bolts off honda accord 97...?
i just got done with the fronts but the back one gave me so much trouble...
i even try to cut out the metal piece on the struts itself that hold the bolt but still won't come off...
thanks for the advice....

Good luck with the rears. I had to cut the bolt and destroy the bushing. A lot of people had to do the same. I even used air tools but it did not help. You can try and soak the bolt with penetrating lubricant overnight and apply heat when trying to take them out.

I guess what happens is that the bolt seizes inside the bushing, hence the reason one has to also remove/destroy the bushing. The bushing costs like $20 and the bolt is like $8. Good luck.

I soaked mine with penetrating spray and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then slip a pipe on the end of your socket wrench or wrech (whatever your using) for extra leverage. Have your lever be at least a foot and a half long and it helps you get a lot more powering into it. The longer it is, the easier it will be for you to break the bolt free.

We took it to a local mechanic that had access to a car lift. You need a lot of leverage to get the bolt loose....leverage you can't get from laying on the ground.

The bolts can be a real bother at times. Basically the bolt will be seized into the bushing. Best bet is to take it to a shop have them torch it out and buy a new bolt if you have to, Usually the bolt has a small coating, sometimes water will get in there and seize it with some rust. .Put a little antiseize on the new bolt. If your going to keep on getting it yourself eventually the bolt will snap in the bushing makes everything a mess. I had the same issue recently on tc rod bolt for my 240sx I used a press to get it out. Should be 20-30bucks I figure for them to torch it out and you'll be okay.

If you are just putting springs on and want to be cheap, you can seperate the upper ball joint and remove the brake line from its hanger on the trailing arm and drop the rear suspension down about a foot and change the spring with the strut on the car.
