Integra dead(ATTN: mechanics)
My friend has a 2000 LS. The other day he took it to a shop to have a new flywheel and clutch put on. When they were done everything was fine and he drove straight home. The next morning when he started it up, it would idle normal and then the rpm's start to fluxuate(sp) between 800 and 1500. When he gives it gas nothing really happens and then the car dies. I don't see how this could have anything to do with the clutch/flywheel job, but does this sound familiar to anyone.
My friend just did a clutch/flywheel job on his Turbo II RX7. Different car, but the same thing. Turns out he didn't connect/secure the harness for his airflow meter and now it's shot and the car doesn't run. Hook it up to a scanner. I would reccomend Finding a friend with a Snap-On scanner. Those things are the *****! It even listed all the symptoms. Good Luck
i hear that when u get a super-light flywheel, it will affect your idling. correct me if im wrong but doesnt a super light flywheel make u rev faster and also make your needle drop faster?? anyways your needle might drop so fast that it just dies
so i guess u gotta be giving it gas or something...i hope that what i am saying is true...i could have sworn i heard this discussed by somebody
u should look into that....if i am worng someone pls correct me....hope this helps

Ill go ahead and speak up. I had the same problem with my car. I thought the same ****...wtf how could my flywheel have anything to do with this. Some times it does it and some times it doesnt. Ive checked a few things and cleaned my IAC but i havent replaced it....
Im very curious to see if someone knows the answer...

its the Idle Air Control Valve. it sits behind the intake manifold and looks like a tiny beer can. take it off (2 bolts) and spray carb cleaner or brake cleaner in there. bolt it back up and you should be set. its a common problem.
if that doesnt work, look for a vaccumm leak. the mechanics may have unplugged a tube to get to something, and forgot to put it back. running the car cold with a vaccumm leak can create erradic idle.

First things first...If the car isn't running right, you take it back to the place that did the install and have them correct the problem before it's too late.
The IAC shouldn't have anything to do with a clutch install. You don't disconnect it or go near it when installing a clutch.
What exactly do you mean "when he gives it gas nothing really happens, and dies" Somethingh as to happen, for every action there is a reaction.
Anyways, the best thing to do is to get it to the place that did the work.
