Default possible to recognize a type r crank?

i have a crx with a b16a and have just recived a type r dissasembled short block but it had everything but the crank and he says he will get it for me so when i get it i want to be able to tell if it is a type r crankshaft. is there any way to tell a number or mark or mabe the size i could measure it with that gauge i forgot the name of it? anyway i need to know because he has a lot of motors around and i want the right one, thanx

ps also if he cant find one can i use a ls crank is it the ssame thing as far as size, and weight, strength, balence?

Type R crank has bigger, heavier counter weights on the crank. Look for any markings on the crank and post up what it has on it. I think it MIGHT be labeled P73 or it might not.

LS crank will work but its different stroke and requires different rods because of that.
