Default mini me help!!!!

i have searched and found nothing. i got a 94 dx engine for 150. i got a 95 d16z6 vtec head. i am gonna do the mini me to that and run obd1 on my 88 crx hf. my question is. can i keep my hf tranny? i know it will make it slower but will it make it stupidly slow? i am really tight in cash right now so i would just like to use my hf tranny but if it gonna be stupidly to the point that a stock hf will kick my *** i'll wait till i get si tranny axles knuckles, etc. thanks for your help.

Yes, you can keep your HF tranny. OBD1 engines have nothing to do with the transmission unless you have an OBD1 motor/tranny swap planned for your car. But since you only have the OBD1 head, then its all good.

Just to be the first one to say it, I would highly recomend an Si tranny. You won't really get to enjoy the payoff of the mini-me with a super-high geared transmission... And they aren't really that expensive, but I know how being short of cash can be .

I would try and find a Si tranny if I were you. It would be well worth it. If you're lucky, you can find one for $50~$100. But if you really can't afford it at this point in time, then the HF tranny will suffice. At the very least, you'll get better gas mileage.

Hehe. I'm not very lucky... i paid about $175 for one that crapped out in less than a week. But there's not too many Hondas running around here, and especially not very many in junkyards...
