Boost spike or leak? Help me trouble shoot.
Setup: T3 super 60 60/63 internally gated using vacuum source from manifold, cspeed racing homemade boost controller, running dsm 450s and the hack. B16a3.
I will hit full boost at around 4500 and it will pull HARD until 6500, at which point the boost drops and then holds constant until redline.
Example. If I have boost at 6psi, it will hit at 4500 then drop to 4.5-5psi @6500 and hold it until redline. If it's at 8psi, it will again hit full boost then drop to around 6psi to redline.
So I don't know if I'm spiking or leaking. If I was leaking how come it still holds constant to redline? Also if it was leaking wouldnt the wastegate eventually shut because the spring isnt seeing enough boost? Vacuum lines are all good. The internal wastegate was off a dodge and was only set to 3.5psi w/out a boost controller. Any help or similar experiences would be great.

spiking is when you go from say a steady 5psi and it jumps to 15psi, sounds like maybe that boost controller you made isn't working ohh so well. What you have is not a huge problem, but i'm sure you want to get it fixed. How much boost are you loosing . . . a lot, or just a couple psi?
I lose from 1-2psi no matter where I set it. Yea, I'm thinking it's either the boost controller or the internal wastegate actuator.
