Another race weekend with wet weather, but this time it really poured. I missed both practice sessions due to major vibrations relating to bad rotors. I ran 2 laps of the morning practice and thought my wheels were falling off, so I limped back in. After trying to diagnose the issue, I borrowed some spare rotors from Rick and Steve (thanks again), and spent the next session replacing them.
There was no way to really tell if that was the fix except for driving around the paddock at 5mph hitting the brakes, so I call it good and head out to pre-grid.
It had been overcast and dry for the last few hours and I figured we were in the clear, so I went with dry tires. As we're sitting on pre-grid, it starts pouring and there's standing water everywhere. Super.
I started 15th in a field of about 25 or so, and after one waive-off, we get the green. This will probably be my career-best start. Everyone stayed in line, so I went straight up the middle, and by turn 4, I got to 8th position. I was pretty conservative for the rest of the race and finished 9th.
The rest of the Camp Honda (and VW) had good races. Rick, Keith and Jon started 1,2 and 4, and by turn 2, they were 1,2 and 3. Good stuff guys. Go easy on me during my upgrade in two weeks.
The video is from my car at the race start and lasts through turn 4.

Its a Honda. I thought it always supposed to vibrate the fillings out my teeth.
Nice job again. Next race is upgrade weekend and you can double the grid size.

Nice job John! We were thinking of you cursing down in pre-grid as it started raining harder and harder. It made me laugh.
Congrats on the great race.
