Default Tuned AFC gains?

Just curious what kind of gains people have seen after dyno tuning their AFCs (preferably VAFC). I'm thinking of picking up a VAFC and lowering the vtec engagement point to ~3400rpms and was curious what kind of gains other people have had. Plus, i'll be using this with nitrous so should I use the SAFC instead (and lose the ability to change vtec engagement)? I figured an AFC + dyno tuning should be good for 8whp on a 4banger, but I figured I'd ask around first

apexi has told me(and in there faq's on their site) that accords use a different kind of vtec, and that their v-afc does not work. i mean it will work but it will be funky, my friend tried it and said vtec wouldnt engage at all when he tried to set it. use the afc

Yeah I've heard the same thing about it not working on Accords. Although my brother, who works for a tuning shop in S.C. says his shop does it all the time and even has a wiring diagram for the 94-97 models. I didn't want to mess with it so I got a SAFC II. I haven't had mine dyno tuned but I noticed more response at certain RPM ranges. Also gas milage has improved noticably which is nice considering gas prices right now

i've heard that about VAFC as well but know some people that have used it on 6th Gen V6's no problem, just not sure about accords (13.5 @ 104mph w/ vafc, nx 75hp, and other bolt ons). I thought that with the SAFC all you could adjust was fuel?

VAFC will work, apexi's pinouts are just incorrect......

the deal w/ the SOHC Vtec is that its not a fixed engagement point like on the DOHC, however by using a VAFC, u can create a set engagement point to wherever you want it
