Default newer/older blocks with eg civic

I am trying to decide what block to go with for a 92 dx. I have a z6 head i was going to use but need a new block. I was thinking just go with a z6 but most of the ones i see are high mileage so I would probably have to rebuild it before I use it. So i was thinking about a y7 or y8 block because they will be newer and less likely needing a rebuild. If i go with a y7/y8 block what problems will I have if any cause I am obd1 and can i use my engine harness with this block? I was also thinking of going with an a6 block but what problems will i have with the engine harness, hydro tranny, and anything else i can't think of. Also I am in New York so can I even use a older block in a newer car?

Thanks for any help guys!

Hit up a Y8 as she is a VTEC block so I think you can avoid all the oil line running for VTEC conversions. If it is like B blocks then the crank position sensor is down near the crank as opposed to being _______ (can't remember- HELP!) on OBDII blocks but regardless, if you're bottom end is Y8 and all else Z6 and you should be fine using the Z6 harness. The trannies are interchangeable as well I believe as long as it is a hydraulic tranny.
