the 16 will have higher cr but the 18 will have more tq, it all depends on the application, you'll have more power on the streets with the 18 but the 16 could be happier in a road race car or scca app. plus the 18 will put down a bit more pwr and have a nicer tq curve with minor work compared to the 16 w/ similar mods

either would take alot of abuse, they both are really mild setups, but the main problem with both would be the retainers and springs/valves staying in thier designated locations.

not planning to see anything over 7000+ a lot. 7000k would be the max but on occassion it will maybe see 8500.

would any of these setup make it in the 13s in a 95 civichatch?

A gsr would not like even the occasional 8500 rpms at the track. sure it would last a while but for the extra $500 you can build your head and not worry about it ever, I grenaded a stock gsr revving too high, its not pretty. Yeah you could easily see 13's w/ bolt ons, tires, and the right wieght w/ just a gsr swap.

The GSR would be better but I would get rid of the CTRs and get ITR pistons. Because in the long run you will experience detonation.

the motor will last with the right computer/tuning w/ any detonation, but it has to be tuned w/ that high of compression,a stock ecu will not give the proper afr's or timing that a higher compresison motor needs.
