Default ? about gsr intake mani. secondaries

need some advice on what I should do about the secondary butterflies.

my friend has a 00 integra GSR turbo. we are about to put in a p28 ecu to run hondata s200. the p28 cannot control the secondaries. we should be using a p72, but we have a p28 laying around to use.

what should I do?

unplug the vacuum line on the actuator, and run the secondaries open all the time?

plug the actuator to a vacuum source and get it to close and open automatically?

rig up a rpm activated switch to open the secondaries.
if I got a MSD rpm switch, what rpm should it be set at?

TIA
William

Unplug the vacuum and have'em open all the time. You will not need the benefits that the GSR's secondaries give you when going FI. I've heard of people removing them totally, dunno how hard that is to do.
Just curious, why has he decided to stick with the stock gsr IM instead of going with something more suited for turbo, like an S2 IM or AEBS?

to be honest, sk2 and aebs im's are better suited for NA application, in my opinion anyways, sure lots of people use them, but from what ive seen bigger intake mani's are better such as a JG perf X or a sheetmetal im, theres a post around somewhere explaining why the gsr head has a different im than the b16 and itr heads, has to do with the angle of injectors and angle of the inlets on the head, you could stick with the stock gsr im if you wanted, taking out the butterflies isnt that hard since the gsr im comes apart in the middle, people have seen some good numbers from getting thier gsr im custom ported though, so that might be something to check into

You wont have any problems compensating for the secondaries with Hondata...leave the manifold stock.

You will see a midrange loss by removing them with minor peak gains. Not worth it...the secondaries work the exact same in terms of powerband production for NA and FI.

From what I've heard, JG Edelbrock's Victor X IM is more for turbo apps that make power in the very high rpm's, like past 8k. Skunk2 seems to be good for all purposes, I see it used in both NA and FI.
