Default which head gasket to use?

i am in the process of building my head over. i have dual valve springs, titanium retainers, skunk 2 stage 3 cams and a port&polish.

i need to up the compression to go with the head. should i just get h/c pistons? or a thinner head gasket? which gasket would do?

i cant really afford to do the block right now, but if i should definately go with pistons, i will save more.

thx

Since your head is removed from the block and your best bet right now would be getting a thinner head gasket.. not unless you would want to dish out money to do the block with high compression pistons... thats just my opinion.

No headgasket out there, no matter how thin, will give you enough compression to run Skunk2 Stage 3 cams.
I'd say save up for some quality forged pistons, sicne id doesn't seem like you're skimping on your engine at all.
edit: btw if you're considering it, I've heard bad things about milling the head for compression purposes. Afaik it should only be done when absolutely necessary, like in the case of a warped head.

Not if he wants to use the hg as the sole means of upping compression to run skunk2 stage3's.

very true, but using a hg as the only thing upping your cr seems like a waste of time to me, its not going to do enough by itself to make a big difference

you can never go wrong with OEM. You know it will last. From what Ive read even the Golden Eagle headgaskets are OEM just bored out to fit the desired mm of your pistons/bore
