b16/vtec question

hey guys when i get to like 3000 rpm the car starts to like buck then it doesnt accelerate anymore...what could this be?

what does that have to do with vtec? like this happens when driving, the idle is fine but when i get to that rpm its like vtec is not there and doesnt go faster
