Default Did you replace your timing belt?

I'm almost done with the rebuild and the timing belt only had several thousand miles on it. Just wondering if you guys replaced it with a stock honda, or aftermarket like a Greddy.....or replaced it all. Do you know what the HP rating would be for a stock timing belt?

I reused the timing belt (few thousand miles) from my original motor for my rebuilt motor. No problems whatsoever. Just did another timing belt job on my girlfriends civic that had 102,000 mi on it, and honestly, it could have easily lasted 50k more imo.

Yea, the amount of HP doesn't really matter when deciding which timing belt to use, because the same amount of stress is put on it at 500hp as 100hp. If you have stiffer valve springs, that's a different story, there is more stress, but the OEM one should still hold up.

Well, I went to Crower Stage 2 cams and Crower double valve springs and titanium retainers. Does that change things?

should the interval of changing timing belts be changed if the valve springs are upgraded to lets say skunk2's? if yes, when should you change it as opposed to 90k miles?

oem timing belt, whatever water-pump and tensioner. should replace all at the same time... less work later.
timing belt jobs = $$$
