Default D16Y7 swapped for a D16Y8, major craziness, HELP PLEASE!

I would really appreciate all the help I can get on this one, if I had known the trouble this "minor" swap would be I would have just waited and saved up money for an H22A. But, I bought a 1996 (supposed 1998, guy lied) D16Y8 swap and I am stuck on wiring issues. First of, what the hell is up with this IACV fix crap? Secondly, I need exact instructions, a write up or something on how to wire up the VTEC solenoid and the pressure sending wiring. Also, supposedly this was simple, reuse the Y7 harness and vilola! run a VTEC wire and I'm done they said! But, I look half a mile up the back of the engine and see a knock sensor plug and I don't have a connector for it on the Y7 harness! Not only that, but on the #1 runner (looking up from the bottom with your legs sticking oput the front of the car) I see a little vaccum nipple and no place to go with it either! Man, I'm going to go nuts and I still haven';t even cranked the engine over to see if I was sold a good one or not!

Someone please take the time and patience to give me links to EXACT instructions, or better, give me a phone number to call one of you guys on my bill and I will be happy as a lark! Pictures would be even better I have the ECU pinout page that talks about the IACV valve thing, I got that down and I guess I'll start looking for those connectors, can I get the connector clips somewhere without buying an entire 150+ dollar Y8 harness? Thanks for takign the time to read my ranting, hope to read/hear from you guys soon!

your gonna need an ecu from either from a EG civic (p28) but you'll need a obd1-->obd2 conversion harness, or a EK EX ecu, the P2P.

i myself dont know how to wire a "vtec switch" that everyone keeps raving about, but for the good of everybody its better to have the ecu handle it, so you need the propper ecu

the vtec solenoid has 2 wires sticking out of it, an oil switch and another small wire, you need to plug those into the new ecu, i myself am not at that point so i cant give you exact instructions, but look into the first link, answers there

the Y7 engine didnt have a knock sensor, the Y8 does, you need to wire it, once again i personaly dont know how, people will come and answer

other than the electrical **** and garbage, it really should be a direct bolt in.

I found yet another crazy thing, seems the D16Y8 dizzy has 9 wires and my D16Y7 harness for the dizzy has 10....interesting, anyone know what this means? Also, did Japan make a JDM D16Y8 with D16Y8 printed on the block? I traced the tranny VIN # and found that it is a 1999 EX 2dr tranny but the head is 1996 and I guess the block is '96 also. Seems I've really been lied to good by this idiot in SC. Lovely, and to top it off, till I get you guys to help me figure out the wiring craziness I won't even know if it runs like he said it did also.
