Default just got my gsr swap what do i look for. . .

i just picked up my gsr obd 1 swap .... its the complete swap i paid 500 for it ... should i put it into my 00 si and sell my motor for 2000 or buy a hatch and put it into that.... also i wanted to know what do i look for to know its the complete swap .......

lol, yeah a 3000+ motor for $500 seems kind of fishy if you ask me. I wouldnt put it in the SI, Id buy a hatch.

NO!!! not before you make sure everything is good. Do you want to waste 500 bucks?? Make sure the motor is prepared to run before you even try to crank it.

Ya, its not fishy this guy is just sick of having all this **** and he said 500 buks and i can have the complete swap. He doesnt know what he has the motor has 85,000 miles on it. Hes smart huh? his loss my gain

i dunno about a hatch though and plus i have so much **** done to my Si except engine so iunno

but just gotta see what it all has and i need to know how to look for stuff the easiest way

Well I would take off the valve cover and take a gander. By seeing how dirty or dingy everything is you can tell how well its been taken care of. Although this isn't as good as inspecting the piston rings or rod bearings, it is a pretty good indicator of abuse.

Hell if I were you I would just change the oil, check the timing belt, and swap it right in. For $500 you don't have much to lose plus you would still have your B16.

No matter how much **** people have they don't give away $3000 motors for $500. Something seems off to me. Of course he could be a moron and not know what he has.

yeah man. take off the valve cover give it a peep. ive even pull the whole head to check out the cylinders. change her oil, check the timing and see if she cranks. just becarful pmed you too man

plus did you get the shift linkage, tranny, harness, ecu ,ect?

is the timing belt an all intact?? .. do a thorough visual.. then do a leak down on it... and once all is ok and in running order crank it...

hell for 500 bucks...if the block is gone its still worth it to rebuild the head and bottom end for prolly all together a little more than a gsr motor normally
