I just got done with the school week on friday, and this morning/ afternoon I just sold my MG, so now I have my drivewayback!!! The guy came to pick it up around 1:00, and I Got my car in the driveway around 1:30. Thats when the fun began!!! I had everything disconnected by about 6:00 tonight. I then cleaned up, and ate some dinner. That leaves me here...
Tomorrow I will be swaping the harness from my b16 to the 18, and then studding for my last final on monday morning. So after tomorrow I cant work on her till monday night
.
Heres a pic of the engine all disconnected.

Heres one of the engine...

Its a jdm b18c with a dc headter (from the b16), skunk2 IM, and a 64mm TB. I just purchased some skunk2 stage 1 cams, but they wont be installed untill I have the BAR certify it.
Its going to be running obd1, with a gsr lsd tranny, aid of a hasport cable to hydro conversion.
Check my site for more info.
Future plans include a set of portflow inner/itr outer valve springs, and uberdata or hondata.
Allright all... I will keep ya updated regularly!!
Ryan

Well, thus morning/afternoon I made all the mods to my harness....
-cut out o2 sensor wires
-spliced in dizzy wires
-spliced in injector wires
-cutoff some unnecessary plugs
-repaired some spots
-lengthened some areas
-shortened some areas
-eliminated the injector resistor box
-re-taped some areas
-added the knock, vtec wires...
-and some other stuff that I cant remember
It fits awesome "like a glove" lol. Ill try to get some pics soon!!

What kind of wiring harness are you using?
Are you using an OBD0 B16A harness with OBD1 GSR plugs spliced in? I bought a OBD1 USDM B18C engine harness, but I have a feeling it will be harder to work with. Unless I'm mistaken the B18C engine harness wont plug right into my CRX DX whereas the first gen B16 engine harness is plug-n-play.

I had to get the hasport cable to hydro kit, mounts are included.
The harness is a 89 crx si harness. The one that came with my car. I did like 5 hours of wiring today. I had to basically re make that harness. Ryan
Heres a pic... This is just the crx harness, I made a secondary for the other plugs, ks, and vtec plugs but its not pictured

Hmm, I was thinking about getting a first gen B16A and hacking it up and putting my GSR plugs on there, but I dont know if that's the best way to run my wiring. I am thinking that aside from all the re-wiring your harness would plug right in.

You mean my DX harness? or since I have a DX I should get a Si harness?
I thought about that for a while, but I am very wary of doing that. Wiring isn't my strong point, and I dont know how to use (or have) a soldering iron. I do know how to use a crimping tool and butt connectors pretty good though
I'm also afraid that I may end up miswiring the sensors to the ECU.

Yeah, dx harness. You have to convert to mpfi 1st, then the rest. Practice makes perfect!! Ryan

I might look doing my wiring this way. If I wanted to I could use an Si harness right? cause I may buy an extra harness instead of hacking up my current one. This way I can buy either type of harness.

I just read up on how it is a PITA to convert the Si harness for use on a DX. And since I'm not comfortable doing my first soldering on my engine harness, I will probably just get a pre-made DX conversion harness from nikotad here on H-T.

Well, here is another update if anyone cares....
I had my last final today, so I spent a lot of time in the classroom, and on the road(in my dads truck, lol).
I did however have a little time to do car stuff.
I needed some hose, and some misc. bolts. So I made some trips to the store. I Later installed them, and got as much done as I possibly could without pulling the B16.
Oh yeah, I swapped the bell cranks on the TB so I can hook up my cable.
Tomorrow morning I will be pulling the engine, and ,my goal is to have it in by 5:00. Ill let ya know tomorrow!!Ryan

JDM b18c is considered a replacement engine for the USDM b18c1. Shouldn't have a problem at the BAR test as long as its hooked up like a USDM b18c1.

the bar. program *should* check vin's.. exactly where that engine came from.. thats why when you buy USDM engines, you get papers... so.. you let me know how that part of it goes.
for that matter.. putting a JDM B16A into any car, and saying its a USDM 99 Si motor.. see how far you get.

IIRC putting a first gen B16A into a CRX should not be legal anyways, because a 88-91 B16 was never sold in the US in those same years. So you shouldn't be trying to pass of a 88-91 B16 as a 99 Si anyhows. But if you get a JDM B16A2 or A3 you should be legal, because both of those were available in the US in the Del Sol and 99 Si. So it's the same way for B18C's, since they are available in the US too.

HAHA, Here I come!!!
Wow, what a long day. That gsr tranny is def. bigger/longer. Its tuff to stuff in there. Im exhausted...

One more, Apex... Look out...

Oh, and yeah a b18c jdm is fine. It will pass BAR. Its a factory replacement engine. The reason the b16 wont pass is that most are 1st gens, and they dont make 1st gens in the US. Ryan

You have to tell me about your wiring for the resistor box and vaccum line. Also note the Looks nice and one more thing what about the cable line and throttle line. Did you change them to the integra ls 90-93? Thanks Phil

For the resistor.. if u want to sodder all those wires together... If you use the gsr injectors.
The vac is very straight foward.
clutch cable is a modified (cut crx), and the throttle is a 90-91 teg.

Ill do the ecu wiring in the morning, then turm it over... wish me luck!!
Oh, and install the battery, and connect the pcv hose, haha
