Does anyone know ANY difference between these two heads? Also, does anyone know a good source to get a full head assembly besides the stealership (i.e. valvetrain installed)?
Yes I have searched, but it is very hard to find a straight answer out of zero threads, or if there are any, about 50 different variations of answers.

The reason JDM R motors have more hp is because of a 4-1 stainless steel header.
The heads are manufactured the exact same way.
Honda uses the PR3 (b16) head castings for the ITR head and then they do a slight port and polish on the head and give it stiffer springs, lighter valves and of course bigger cams, than, the B16A head and B18C1 head. Some people say that Honda P&Ps all of the B16 heads but this is not true at all. Only the ITR heads come P&P from the factory.

There was alot of R&D that Honda did on the B18C motors. Every Type-R motor is assembled by hand and the Rods, Crank and Pistons are blueprinted with Micrometers from the factory. Thats why the R is such great car...it has passion put in to the manufacturing process. Its not on some assembly line like most of the cars on the road. Thats why I hate it when people starting going of about how its just another damn Honda...I just look at them and think to my self..."Ya right, you wish you had one though!"
