trap speed is too low in the quarter mile !!!
i was at englishtown last night and my best run was a 14.45 @ 95.06mph with a 2.25 60ft. my best time ever is a 14.23 @ 95.78 with a 2.20 60 ft. my mods are an aem cai, jdm headers , jdm cat, and a tanabe exhaust. i see other type r's with the same mods trapping out at 97,98,99 mph. previous to my run at englishtown my check engine light came on and the comp said that i bank 1 was running too rich. could this be the problem to my low trap speeds. and no my bumper is not black. how do i tune this without getting a vafc.. would a dyno with a wideband o2 solve the problem.
mess around with your shifting points, just make sure you stay on the big lobe when hitting the next gear. FWIW, so far my best ET didnt have my best trap speed. as far as the problem goes Id start by checking your plugs. not really any way to tune that without some kind of device.
i was running on rota slipstreams on falken azenis @ 22psi. i know im not gaining enough on the top end. my plugs have 2 thousand miles on them and they are stock plugs. i checked them and they were burning just fine. im shifing at redline 8400, 8500 rpms. my oil is fine my compression is at 250 across the board. so i dunno, but my check engine light came on.

Your 60fts suck...2.1 - 2.05s shouldn't be too hard w/ a bolt on R and a decent street tire, try doing a large burnout first, drop some tire pressure, lauch higher...and your trap will increase as the 60 goes down (until about 1.8 then it will decrease)
You're probibly not shifting fast enough either, you should be "kicking" the clutch and your right arm should be pulling the shifter into gear as the clutch is being depressed, you dont' need the clutch in to pull it out of gear...
You can't tune your car w/o a tuning device, at least get a FPR then jump on a dyno with a wideband, but you wont be able to exact tune the RPM scale just tune 1 section and make sure all other points are safe. Spend the hundred or so $ and get a used VAFC

I think his 60ft was pretty good..getting it to the 2.1 is pretty damm hard on street tires...he would need to get slicks to be in the 1.8's....also how much lower can he go on the psi on those falkens? 22 is pretty low for a stiff side wall tire like that.
