Struts rub springs...wtf?Camber?
car is lowered with springs and i have kyb g2 struts. car makes horrible sqeaking noise on drivers side. the spring rubs on the strut. y is this? would a camber kit help? (spring rubs on outer shell of strut..where it says G2)
camber doesn't have anything to do with it.sounds like incorrectly installed springs.are they coilover sleeves,or regular lowering springs?

i bought this car off some body that already had it lowered and shiz. i duno what kind of springs they are. but it was fine for a while.. i had 18's on it.. took them off and put stock acura rims on it. little bit later a terrible sqeaking came along. and bad when i turn wheel to the left. so i got new upper control arm and lubed all the bushins thinkin that was the problem.it was fine for about a week. then it came back. then put on new struts.. good for about a week.. then came back...now its off and on as i drive.. goin from tiny to a loud sqeak. i also has a leak in PS pump.. tryin to fix that also.. just keep adding to the resivore(spelling) to keep it full. would that effect it at all if the level got too low.. (causing a sqeak)
come to think of it i had the same exact problem on my 90 integra, really annoying squeak from about 5-70 mph my guess is that its something rubbing on your brake rotors, or something of that nature. Give your brakes a good look over and update us
i dont think it would be the brakes... when im at a complete stop with brakes applied and turn my wheel it still sqeaks. it also sqeaks when i get in and out of my car.

i dont know what could be the problem otherwise... new struts.. new upper control arm.. sounds like a bushin squeak but its really loud and annoying. would camber kit or my 18'' rims solve the problem? im gonna go take pics so u can see what i mean.brb
can someone tell me who makes red springs.. manufacture? i have once to be red springs that were painted black and was just wondering?
also for the problem of the squeak.. its gota be the spring rubbin the strut. theres too much pressure on the spring and its leaning for some reason. might put on some stock springs to check it out. if not.. just put my camber kit and get an allignment. theres also a form of rust on the springs..hmm?
does anyone have stock/lowering springs or coilovers to sell? post a reply and i will get back to u.

I would pull the shock/spring assembly out and make sure you have all the proper spacers washers and sleeves. Sounds like something is missing or installed improperly. the spring will not sit crooked or angled unless its sitting wrong. Maybe the springs are in upside down and therefor not sitting in the perches properly. I have only seen cheap coilover springs rub the shock body because of the fact that they are improperly seated and are not really under any pressure. taking it to a shop would probably be your best bet if you are not sure what you are looking for. Anyone whos done springs on a civic more than a few times should know quickly by looking what is wrong or missing from your setup. Hope that helps.
your damper could have blown and now makes that noise when compressed.
when you switch wheels you spring could have came out of the up mount and when lowered back down did not seat properly and is now rubbing.

I think the noise could be comming from the upper control arm bushings. If you ever taken one out you will know that they are at a certian angle and once you lower the car or raise it the angle changes. I realized this when I lowered my car and start to hear something squeaking like rubber. So I investigated and found that this was one part.. the second part was that the rubber ends for the top of the spring where it meets the body rubs also since I didnt change it and they tend to keep an shape of the previous spring so it will squeak . this is nothing to be worried about IMHO
the upper control arms are brand new. i think i solved the problem but need to fix it in order to tell. i think i need a bearing/bushing where the upper control arm conects to the top of the strut and mounts to the car. if it doesnt fix the problem. im sellin the car. j.k but i still need a front camber kit and possibly a power steering pump. .. ne one have one for sale. im also interested in a spyder front and rear kit.
Sounds like a bad wheel bearing to me. Jack the car up at the corner where the noise is coming from, and try to shake the wheel around to see if it wobbles at all.
