JDM ITR intake springs
I'm curious to see what part number TypeRmsm comes up with..
14761-P73-J01 = 97/98 Intake Outer
14751-P73-J01 = 97/98 Intake Inner
14761-P73-J02 = 00/01 Intake Outer
14751-P73-J02 = 00/01 Intake Inner
?????-P73-??? = JDM spring??
14761-P73-J01 = 97/98 Intake Outer
14751-P73-J01 = 97/98 Intake Inner
14761-P73-J02 = 00/01 Intake Outer
14751-P73-J02 = 00/01 Intake Inner
?????-P73-??? = JDM spring??
Looks like the same part numbers:
14761-P73-J01 = JDM 96Spec Outer
14751-P73-J01 = JDM 96Spec Inner
14761-P73-J02 = JDM 98Spec Outer
14751-P73-J02 = JDM 98Spec Inner
Mike
14761-P73-J01 = JDM 96Spec Outer
14751-P73-J01 = JDM 96Spec Inner
14761-P73-J02 = JDM 98Spec Outer
14751-P73-J02 = JDM 98Spec Inner

Man, I remember when the 00's first came out, everyone was talking about if it was faster or not, and what were the differences besides color, interior trim, wheels, and AC. No one ever mentioned anything about stiffer valvesprings.
yea
I dug it out lol
so why did acura have different part number for 00-01 intake springs?
I looked everywhere and cant find specs on them
or difference from the 97 -99 springs that are now listed as p72 springs for both intake and exhaust side
from team integra..
why would Honda go through all the trouble of changing part number for identical spring to gsr?
Acura USDM/JDM GSR INTAKE SIDE oNLY Valve Springs
Variable or Linear: Linear
Seat Pressure: 50lbs
Max Lift: 11.5mm
Coil Bind: 11.7mm
Pressure @ 11.5mm/.453" lift: 150lbs
Acura USDM 98-01/JDM 96-01 ITR Valve Springs
Variable or Linear: Linear
Seat Pressure: 50lbs
Max Lift: 11.5mm
Coil Bind: 11.7mm

speaking of. what happened to blueR? he kinda just disappeared from here just like the redSIR. I never got to send him a starbucks gift card for his help lol

So has anyone tested
97/98 vs 00-01 intake springs?
im thinking of putting the gsr dual springs on intake and exhaust unless someone can confirm that the 00-01usdm itr intake springs are in fact stiffer than 97-98 usdm itr

I thought the Type-R brochure mentioned that the wire was "oval" shaped to allow greater lift before coil bind.

BTW:
97 US ITR currently lists 14750-P73-305 as the part number for both intake springs sold together (out of stock).
01 US ITR currently lists 14751-P73-J02 as the inner and 14761-P73-J02 as the outer (sold separately)

must have been a typo then
I checked few years ago and it listed p72 dual springs for intake and exhaust for 97 itr
now it lists the combo p73 for intake but it seems to be out of stock

Sorry my post was supposed to say "Out of stock" for P73-305 instead of "Not out of stock". Typo on my part. I fixed it.
BTW: I checked the japanese parts sites and they list the exact same P73 part#'s for the 97 vs 00.

Doesn't say if they are discontinued or not though. It also just lists all parts for all trims at the same time for a given year/make/model (even though you pick more than just trim). Not the best, but still good for finding part numbers.

This isn't really a mystery.
The USDM 00-01 R had a slightly more aggressive intake cam then the USDM 97-98 R. My guess is that's why Acura changed up the valve springs.
