Who is going to this? It should be a great time. I know a lot of local people that are going. Last year was fun. Any Chicago guys? It is put on by a local DSM club, but all are welcome.

This event will be a fun and friendly drag competition for all racers.
(import, domestic, rotary, 4-cylinder, V8, etc.)
...but the trophy wins will be for our local Sport Compact enthusiast only since it is the Sport Compact Drag Challenge!

The process is simple: Run what you brung
Get the feel of street racing with all the safety features only found at a true drag strip. With a Test and Tuneā style layout, you can run grudge matches or whoever you happen to line up against. With your help we will keep track of each racers best ET and at the end of the day we will hand out the awards and congradulations!

Fastest FWD
Fastest RWD

I might go...

 

Dave you need to bring your car and show those DSM guys whats up. They talk to much trash about Hondas around here. The fastest Honda that I know of that will be there might pull high 12's on street tires. My car will not be attending.

Cars that I know are going to be there:
A bunch of 1st gen DSM's (one 11 sec. car)
Stealth RT
A couple EK Civic's w/ GSR swaps + n2o
A couple new EVO's
A couple new STI's
EG Civic Turbo
Other random Civic's, Eclipse's, Mustang's, RX-7's, RSX's, Prelude's, etc

You get the idea. Basically one car in the 11's, a couple in the 12's, and most in the 13-16 second range. We are lacking in the fast Honda department.

You should be able to get as many runs as you want (15+).

All I know is its "prizes". I'm not sure if that is money or what. You might try clicking one of the links and asking someone from DSM Central.

Its mainly a fun day for local imports and bragging rights.

i dont speak for them, but apg is trying to get their race car ready for the event. It runs, now they need to finish it up.

the car has undergone a lot of changes since this state. They have changed around/cleaned up a lot of things in it. As to the details of the exact set up, its not my to share, they have been hard at work on it for a few years now, and hopefuly they will have it at the event.

June 13th is the new date. Same place, same time of day. Lets all pray for good weather this time.

 

Trying to talk the boss his into bringing his 420A Eclipse out.So far a best of a 10.87@136.I may bring my car if the wife allows me,hehe.

 

Its this Sunday. For those of you who were at the NDRA race this weekend, its the same place from 12-4. Should be a great time and good weather (finally!).
