90 accord stuck in 1st gear!!!!!!

Default 90 accord stuck in 1st gear!!!!!!

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY ACCORD!!!!
I was in a parking lot turning around. Ok so i was turning real slow then grabed the shifter and it only would go up and down. no left or right as if going to 5th and reverse or over to 1st and 2nd. if i push the clutch in it will go to neutral but when i go to **** it wont go into gear. IT ONLY WILL STAY IN 1st!!!!! I am pissed what the **** is wrong with my car? maybe the shifter teeth? Please help its my daily driver and i still have school. thanks for the help guys.

There are two shifter cables from the shifter to the transmission. Get someone to check the cable movement in the engine bay with the car off, I.e. have him watch the tranny shifter area while you try to move the shifter around. I'd bet one or both of the cables are siezed or broken.

Also while the friend is watching that, press the clutch in a few times and see if the clutch fork is getting moved enough.

I Have the best luck. I just replaced my exhaust (pics later in another area), and this was an old tin can 3r muffler. friend that knew about cars was over and he just happen to know a fix for it then he did it and he got the old exhaust for FREE. Straight my car works now money to go to hott import nights. PEACE

He said that one of the **** linkage cables was twisted, broken, somthing and he used this weird look thing to put the two back together. wierd. ill ask him later about it then ill post what he did
