96 Civic Ex Check Engine light with code P0171 (Fuel System too lean)
I am by no means a mechanic or even close to it. I have a 96 Civic Ex with 191,000+ miles on it. I have been taking my car to a Honda Dealership for service and repairs. About 2 months ago, my check engine light came on. The technicians replaced my exhaust manifold and reset the light. A few days later the light came back on and the techs cleaned my fuel injectors and looked over the entire fuel system then reset light. 2 weeks later the light was back on and the techs did an induction service (cleans out carbon build-up) then reset light. After about 3-4 weeks, my light is back on again and thats why I am on this site.
What I have noticed before the light comes on: when I push the gas pedal to give it more gas from a stopped postition or only going 5 miles per hour, it seems to take a few seconds before my car goes with a jolt. If I am driving at a faster speed like on a highway and I go to give it more gas, everything is normal. The last 2 times, I had a little less than 1/8 of a tank of gas.
I hope I have provided enough information. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
