It might improve something in acceleration and power, but likely nothing more than 5hp at the most.

5hp is good enough for me.

you probably gain something, but not enough to notice on the butt dyno.

Dyno tuning an AFC is pointless...... I am running the S2 chip on my b18c w/p28 ecu. Basically, You can get a chip made to your own specs if youd like. Contact Kenji on here(HT) he can help you out.

Graphs are down, but here is the thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=92784

This was all for JDM D15B. The baseline was like 109, with the skunk2 b16 program it was 115, and with the SOHC VTEC RPT program it was 117. You can get even higher #'s than these if you get a VAFC or hondata and dyno tune it.

What is the point of a chip if you have an EMS(Hondata, Uberdata, etc)?

because you still have to socket the ecu and use a chip regardless if you go with hondata or uberdata. Chips can be a good starting point especially for the money.

again best thing to do it is DIY, learn the info (from the site below), you can even get a editor and more helpful tuning tips of setting up a custom program all in all for less then $80 if you do your homework.

I'm just wondering as I will be purchasing Hondata or getting Uberdata soon. So it wouldn't be worth my while to buy a chip just to buy Hondata in a month.

I am presently running the jdm d15 head on a b7 block (mini-me), with i/tb/im/h/e, and chipping the p28 internally is a waste of time and money. The Venom 400 does a good job smoothing out the curves, is designed for your specific application, and is plug n' play.

I you buy a "chip" from someone, it will be a clone of a program written for a specific set up in someone else's car. You might get lucky and get one that works for your car but you will have to try lots of "chips" until you do. I found one on my 2nd try (butt dyno). The guy I got it from called it a XS racing program but it doesn't matter who wrote it because it was for a specific engine combo. The same company has written lots of different programs and one of theirs could be the same as a jun or spoon or mugen or etc. Its fun trying different ones but if you wanna be sure, buy a Hondata or an Uberdata and do the dyno time.
