Default K20 tranny--Interchangeable?

Well, the question arised when my friend decided to do a k24 swap into his civic. Are the k20a trannies compatible with the k24 aka accord/crv blocks?

Also..another question is are there advantages to running the k24 block with the k20 head? I remember reading a while back when someone did this and put 220 to the ground. A concern I had however was if there were any reliable factors that need to be taken into concern? For instance...would this type of swap be plagued with a poor rod/stroke ratio similar to its cousin the b20/vtec swap?

all k-series tranny's bolt right up. if you have a ep3 and want a 6 speed there is slight mods needed in the dash to be able to use 6th. the advantages of a k24 with a k20 head is mainly the torque. the k24 puts down way more torque than the k20, due to the size obviously.

the stroke on the k24 is really high (99mm) and therefore, Hytech when using this combo (K24 block with k20 head) destroked it to 2.3L to allow for better rev-ability.

put the type S head on before the type S tranny.... there is not point in putting such short gears on with such a low redline. so if your looking to make a big change to your engine, just get the head

i have been looking EVERYWHERE for a head. I've found some deals, but others want way more than what others are asking... however i ran into a problem... the other ppl that are selling it for cheaper aren't responding to me emails and stuff... i dunno if they're busy or what. but i'm still waiting for it. and do yall think i should get the type-s headers and intake manifold? or could i just use mine?
