Car Stalling/Fuel Filter
My car has stalled twice/engine has died twice in the past month, and the first time it did I believe it was due to no gas as I had just installed a new gas sensor so I was unable to tell if it was or not. Now, someone has suggested that could be a clogged fuel filter, and I was wondering if this is true and if it would cause the car to die. I plan on getting a new one just because it probably need one, so also, where is the filter located on a 94 LX Accord. Your feedback is appreciated, thanks.
the filter on the 94 accord, if you pop the hood, then look to the top right of the head of the motor, and then down toward where the firewall is visible, you will see it sitting to the left of a little gauge, that is the fuel filter, and perhaps one of the most annoying parts on the car to change, besides the engine wiring harness which is my next project!
Thanks for the info. I'm probably going to get a new one this weekend. As for what kind I don't know. I heard the Fram ones you can buy at a local Wally world aren't good because they don't really filter, but also is it worth however much it is to buy a Honda-brand one? Thanks again.

check the ignition switch, i've got pics if you need
try holding the key up, when it stalling like turning it a bit, if it stays running it's the ignition switch, do your gauges go wonky, clock flicker?

Hmmm I haven't noticed my clock flickering, but then again I haven't paid much attention while it's stalling. The only thing I notice when the car dies is the tachometer going to 0 rpms, but that's just the engine dying. Lol And if it's a faulty ignition switch it still is able to start up correct? Thanks for the help. Btw, I'd like to see the pics please
it won't start up necessarily as it becomes faulty it may start up, if you can turn the car on and it dies right away then it's the ignition switch in most cases
you know what, i have so many mods done to my accords, im now paying for it with the high *** gas prices, usually, with my F22, i get about 250 city, and maybe 290 highway, then with my H22 i get about 225 city and 275 highway, its horrible, but because i rotate between three cars and even drive my brothers or parents cars at times, its not too bad, but yea, mods are bad in this high gas priced climate...
hey i have a 91 dx that sounds like it does the same thing. It will start up and drive fine for a while but all of a sudden the check engine light comes on andthe tach goes down and the car wont accelerate, and when i pull over or down shift it stalls completly. i too have had people tell me it was the fuel filter but the ecu throws a code 15 "ignition output signal". can anyone help me.
I'll just throw this out there. Water in the gas tank wouldn't cause that when it gets real low would it?
What're you running in that 97EX (mods and octane)? My 96 gets about 300 I think completely stock with a hacked airbox, I usually run 89 octane with 10%ethanol. Any oppinions on if its worth paying more for premium as far as performance/mpg gains. But then again I'm the guy who's first off of every light and has to scratch second gear so who knows how much my driving habits hurt things.
Far as the filter itself those things are a bitch!!! My manual says to get it from underneath but there's no freakin way unless you're double jointed (suspension/steering crap gets in the way). My lines were on there REALLY tight, I ended up taking it to the dealorship. It was like $35 (half hour of labor) since I already had the filter. I got to drool over the S2000 too...ahh so much horsepower such a little car.
