1 month old pads and rotors... already warped/damaged?????
Ok here is the background. i bought this civic with gsr front and rear brakes. the brakes looked liked they were changed in a while and the inside face of all of the rotors were all pretty heavily warped. the original pads had very uneven wearing.
I ordered brembo blanks all around, axxis metal masters in the rear, and some pepboy specials in the front (had uaxxis ultimates but orderd the wrong pad). i put these in about a month ago. I broke the pads in like you are supposed to and i know they were installed correctly.
Problem #1) about 2 weeks ago, i noticed that when i stepped on the brake pedal with just enough for the pads to start rubbing with the rotor i get this on off pulsing, somewhat screechy sound coming from the rear driverside brake. when i took the wheel off to investigate this i noticed that when i spin the hub you can feel where the pad and rotor touch and where they dont. on this same rotor you can see that for some very strange reason there is a 1/8" groove that goes all the way aroound the rotor. it is about 1/8" deep and is about 1/2" from the edge of the rotor.
Problem #2) the rear passenger rotor does not feel even at all to the touch.
problem #3) now this one drives me nuts also. there is this squeking noise coming from the driverside front brake. the pads are seated fine, the rotors have no uneven wear, the shield is not in the way. any ideas on this one?
1 more thing, the car pulls to the right and has always pulled to the right. i always thought it was the alignment but now im thinking it might have to do with the brakes. well ill post pictures later i have to go to work. hopefully someone has a suggestion.
Pete

Sounds like you have a possibly warped hub in the rear, and maybe a caliper up front where the piston is not retracting all the way.
If you had the rotors turned, and it's still warped it sounds like the hub is damaged. If there is a groove on the rotor maybe one of the pads has broken or come apart. Possibly some rock or debris jammed somewhere.
Now up front:
Jack up the front, with the car in neutral, try turning the wheels. Should be fairly easy. If you feel a heavy resistance the calipers piston is not fully releasing. I've had this happen before.
Best thing to do is inspect it thoroughly, and you'll be able to figure out whats what.

i should have posted more details but i didnt have time.
Lets see if i can explain myself better
.
As for the front: when i examnied the rotor i also turned the hub and while turning it everything felt fine. not too much resistance, but even pressure the whole way around. i thought maybe my mind was playing games with me but i know for a fact this squeeking noise is coming from the front. it also only seems to happen when the brakes are warmed up and i can only heard it at slow speeds.
the rear: I took the pads out of the rear driverside caliper and there was no debris anywhere. it almost seems like in this 1 spot, instead of having even wear on the pad and rotor, it was like the rotor was just wearing and the pad wasnt. im starting to think that the car pulling to the left might have something to do with my problems but i can elminate the alignment untill after i get the ground controls.
im going to take pictures of my problem tomorrow, maybe that will help

The rotors are held on with 2 screws. Most people have trouble with these, and end up drilling them out cause they are rusted on. I had to do that with mine, and when I put it back together I didn't line the holes up where the screws would normally be. Anyway, there was just enough remains of the screw sticking out that it made the wheel and rotor not seat flush against the hub. Does that make sense? This could be your problem with the rear, but may not be. Just throwing out ideas, ya never know.

well the screws were replaced with the ones that came with the brembos, so i doubt that is the problem because i know they were put on properly. im going outside to take pictures of the rotors now.
ttt till i figure this out
