quick viper question, splicing two shock sensors
hey I just got a prox sensor for my viper, but it doesn't have anymore 4 prong outlets available, can I splice into the wires from my other shock sensor?
Yes, but when you splice you need to wire it a bit differently. Both the red and black wires go to the shock sensor and the Prox. Take either the green or the blue and run it to the prox. Splice the blue and green from the prox into it. Do the same for the shock sensor with whatever wire you didn't use. Thats it...
I'm a little confused by your post. I have a 4 prong input on the alarm, there is a cable going to the prox red/black/green/blue I have a shock sensor I want to hook up, it has the same cable/colors. so I can't just match up all the same color wires?
Ok. If you have that cable plugged into your alarm brain, and into the prox, you need to cut the blue and green wires about half way in between. To hook up the shock sensor, wire the red and black into the red and black on that cable. Take the blue and green from the shock sensor and wire BOTH of them to either the green or the blue coming from the alarm brain side (it doesn't matter which color). To hook up the prox, take the green and blue and wire BOTH of them to whichever wire you didn't hook the shock sensor to. Thats the only way I can explain it.... The reason you do it is so one doesn't trip the other. If you have a viper manual the diagram should be in there. Hope this helps

One other question, I just realized I can look at all this at dei.com looking over their instructions they say to hook up the red/black to shock sensor, and nothing else, so how does the prox get power?
You can hook it up to the prox too....trust me I've done it a hundred times. If you don't feel safe doing it, just hook them up to the regular alarm wires. Red = constant power, blk = ground. Some dei alarms actually have 2 plug ins that you can hook up both. If not, just use the wiring the way I told ya.
question:
is a prox sensor the same as a perimeter sensor.
i have a dual stage shock sensor and i wanted to add a dual stage perimeter sensor (senses movement).
there are no plugs available for me to plug in this perimeter sensor.
so, how do i install this?
the same as what was mentioned above?
were is the best place to intsall this sensor? in the center console?
thanks.

is there an easier explanation then that mentioned above. i got lost reading that part. i thought it was just a simple color to color connection.
can u draw me a diagram. if its not asking too much.

go to dei.com I found the wiring diagram there.
basically all you do is splice red to red, black to black, then take the blue, and green signal wires from the prox, and splice them together, making one wire, do the same w/ the shock sensors blue and green wires. now you should have 1 wire coming from each sensor, and 2 wires available coming from the brain. now you just connect one to blue, and the other sensor to green.
