Endye Eagle rods, Eagle Eagle rods, what's the real difference?
I was curious what the difference actually where. What really throws me off is that Endyne wants $465 for a set of B16 rods, where as from Eagle you can have them for as low as $325. I am just curious what the differences where... if one is obviously better, I'd get that, regardless of the price.

I guess they have been touched with Larry's MAGIC SANDPAPER too...
I wish someone would clarify this because I am curious too...

I would assume that he is just a dealer, with more than average markup, not sure, maybe sprinkled some majic Larry dust on them in his top secret NASCAR funded lab.
oops.. I didn't mean to turn this into another "Bash the old grumpy fugger" session! I have a set of Endyn Magic Dust 84.5mm Wiseco pistons and I am looking forward to putting them to use next month. Now to get back to the topic..
What's so special about the Endyn magic dust Eagle con rods??...

I could be wrong but are they not the same but under another manufacturer, like walbro and holley. Walbro pump $115, holley pump $190...I dunno just a thought.
I asked on his forum. He says they x-ray the rods again to ensure no defects and they only sell 'the good rods'
I think its bullshit but, whatever, could be true.

I got some rods from Larry last week and from what I understand is that he inspects every rod and sizes all of them to #3 honda bearings on the B16's and #2 on all the other B engines.
I was told today that sends back two out of ten rods for imperfection.
Out!

I never heard of "X-raying" rods to check for defects.. the usual procedure is called Magnefluxing..I probably spelled it wrong.
Hmm sure.. I bet he does that in his machine shop.

maybe e does on his breaks when hes not working for nasa or nascar or the goverment? huuummm?

Well .. i never purchased anything from him but .. One of my friends purchased a set of ENDYN spec rods.. took about over a month .. my friend kept on calling the # larry gave him and most of the time his wife picked up. Thinking it was a shop.. His wife didn't answer .. saying "Endyn how can i help you".. like a usual shop would. .. she just did the usual common household.. answer .. but anyway ... the rods were sent out .. he received them a month later.. and i opened up the package for him .. each rod is sealed individually .. so how can he "work his "magic" or whatever grit sandpaper he uses" and reseal the bag like they do right from the Eagle factory ?...... So basically .. to answer the questions that were brought up in this thread .... he does absolutely NOTHING!!!! ... to the Eagle rods... But he sure does make some $ from all these nieve import enthusiasts...

To my knowledge you couldn't x-ray a rod anyway without a very powerful x-ray machine, which i'm sure costs more than larry can afford. ...It's not like an x-ray of your body where you see the defferintations between the absorbtion/reflection of bone and skin. Ever see someones x-ray where they have a watch or necklace on? Testing rods, blocks and whatever else is done through a process called magnaflux, dunno how it works haven't really studied on it any, but it used magnetic waves to image a peice of material, much like an MRI scanner used in hospitals, although they use superconducting magnets cooled with liquid helium/nitrogen..........
