What are the main problems with NSX's?
You'll get better answers if you specify what years you are looking at. For example, the some 91's and 92's have a snap ring problem w/ the tranny that takes big $ to repair. What kind of $ you have to spend will dictate what years you could feasibly purchase, and based on that you could get a better answer.
IMO the most common problem with used NSXs is lack of scheduled maintenance. For example, there are lots of early NSXs on which the timing belt has never been replaced - specified by Acura for 90K miles or 6 years, whichever comes first, but still using a timing belt that is 12-13 years old.
The '91-92 "snap ring problem" is a susceptibility to the snap ring breaking, due to a mismanufactured transmission case. These cars are identifiable by transmission number. If it breaks and you recognize the symptoms (and don't keep driving on it), you can fix it for about $2K or so. You can also have a preventive repair for the same amount.
The '91-93 window regulators can fail, costing about $500 to replace (each side). This is preventable with the installation of a part costing $16.
Other common problems include trunk lid struts and engine hatch struts that wear out (inexpensive to replace, even less to repair) and stereo speaker/amps that go bad (inexpensive to repair, more expensive to replace). Most other problems are rare but can be pricey. Again, go through the FAQ for more information.
